Mr. Cleo Woulard, Sr.'s Obituary

In His own way and for His own purpose, God outreached his hand to Deacon Cleo Woulard, Sr. and whispered softly, Come unto me and I will give you rest. On Friday, December 28, 2018, his soul was released from its earthly home to dwell with the Lord throughout eternity, at the age of eighty-seven. Deacon Cleo Woulard, Sr. was born on July 16, 1931, in Stateline, MS to the late L.J Woulard and Victoria Wicks.
Cleo touched the lives of many. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather and an influential person of the communities from Stateline, Meridian, to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In 1955 he became a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church of God, and he took pride in training his children up in the ways of the Lord. He was an active Deacon board member for many years, an influential leader and businessman in the community. Of his noted achievements he was the backbone to the first head-start for children in Stateline, MS by providing housing, and he provided farming jobs for many in the community. He would often say, I make the sweetest watermelons on this side of the country. Cleo was a long time employee of Ingalls Shipyard (Pascagoula, MS) until he retired.
Deacon Cleo Woulard, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Sister Lucillie Woulard; his parents, L.J. Woulard and Victoria Wicks; one sister, Edna McGee; one step-son, Kenneth Rich; five brothers, Manual Coley Woulard, Chester Woulard, Douglas Smith, Henry Wicks, Warren Wicks.
Deacon Cleo Woulard, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: nine children, Willie Woulard (Verna), Lottie Arrington (Daniel), Mary White (Eugene), Cleo Woulard, Jr., James Woulard, Vera Eakins (Richard), Lee Woulard (Therodra), Racheal Tisdale (Keith), Vickie Smith (Carl); two adopted sons, Demontae Marques Woulard and Lamoni Deandre Woulard; three step-children, Gregory L. Rich, Kimberly Rich McCann, and Chadwick Rich; two sisters, Carol Spotts (Robert) and Faye Gray(Robert); one brother, Patrick Wicks (Lorena); three sister-in-law, Dorthy Woulard, Rosita Wicks and Leona Wicks; twenty-eight Grandchildren; thirty great- grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
