Conrad began his education in Chattanooga public schools and graduated from Howard High school in Chattanooga, TN. After graduating, Conrad enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for four years. His desire to learn and grow led him to pursue an associate's degree and a BS degree in engineering from Tennessee State University. Conrad began a productive career at 3M company in Chattanooga. During his time there he met the love of his life, Ann Kendrick Woods (deceased) and lived there with their children Conrad, Jr., Shawn (deceased), and Tonya. The union between Conrad and Ann and their devotion to each other was admired by many. After moving to South Carolina, Conrad continued his work at 3M company and General Electric. His commitment to service was evident in his involvement in the Twin Town Lodge AF and AM, Enterprise, MS and his many years as city council member in the town of Gray Court, South Carolina. He served as a mentor to boys and men and was a Junior Achievement Advisor. Conrad loved God and became his family's example of Godly love. Conrad was a member of First Baptist Church of Avondale in Chattanooga and Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in Gray Court. He served as Sunday School superintendent, deacon and men's choir member. Conrad's love for his children provided him daily fulfillment and joy. He willingly worked at his son's coffee shop until 2010 when his first grandchild, Rorie, was born. He worked hard to support his children.
