Mrs. Cora Ann Grace Blanks' Obituary
Cora Ann Grace Blanks was born December 29, 1954 in Dekalb, Mississippi to the late James Jack) and Pearl Grace.
Cora accepted Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated and active member of Brown Ridge Missionary Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. As President of Youth Usher Ministry, a leader of the Youth Retreat Ministry, Member of Senior Usher Ministry and President of the Nursing Ministry Cora loved her Church and her church family.
Cora "affecionately called RED" graduated from West Kemper High School in 1973. She would go on to attend college and received her degree in Business Administration. Cora worked several years at Lauderdale Mills, Center Hill Manufacturing and Silver Care. Her hobbies included cooking, talking on the telephone, having a good time and most importantly being with her family.
On Thursday, April 18, 2024, Cora left this earthly world for eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Willie Grace, Willie James Grace, Bobby Lee Grace and Jimmy Grace.
Cora leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Toskhia Blanks of Russell, MS, Taracer Blanks of Lauderdale, MS, Angelica (Tawfik) Abubakar of Friendswood, TX and one son Joseph (Marilyn) Blanks of York, AL; a Goddaughter, Veronica (Kejuan) McClain; Nine grandchildren: Dominick (Tony) Jackson, Ta'Cara Jackson, Ta Quandra Jackson, TaNasia Blanks, Mercedez Blanks, Aaislynn Blanks, Javion Naylor, Kentavion Naylor, and Skylynn Abubakar, eight great grandchildren: Khalyl, Raeleigh, Ryleigh, Kennedy, Nataliya, Cameron, Jr., Miracle, Carson; a special niece: Janet Williams; a special cousin Tracey McCoy Murray; seven sisters: Annie McCalebb of Meridian, MS, Katie (James) Barfield of Daleville, MS, Zula (James) Stewart of Meridian, Inda Williams of Philadelphia, MS, Anna (Gene) Craig of Preston, MS, Ella Nave of Scooba, MS, Rose (Wardell) McGraw of Preston, MS and one brother Curtis June) Grace of Meridian, MS; one sister-in-law, Ida Grace of Fort Meade, FL; She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that she loved very much.
