Mrs. Cosey Lee Porter Moore's Obituary
Her life is a beautiful memory, her absence a silent grief. She is asleep in God's beautiful garden of sunshine and perfect peace. She left a beautiful memory, a sorrow too great to be told; but to us who loved and lost her, her memory will never grow old. Sister Cosey Lee Porter Moore was born November 10, 1936 to lshop and Bertha Porter; in the township of Gloser, MS located · in Amite County. She received her early education in the Gloser Public Schools. She later attended Alcorn State University and while there became a member of the AKA Sorority. She was employed with The East Mississipi State Hospital for 27 years as a Direct Care Worker. Cosey was married to Deacon Benny W. Moore and a daughter, Andra was added to the family which included Angeline and Adam. Her Christian journey began early, as her Father was a Preache she learned to be in church for many services and as the Scripture states; "train up a child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it." However, this journey was brought to a close on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Joining the New Hope Church Family, Cosey began her work as a part of the Usher Board. Later she served on the Deaconess Ministry until God called her home. She always worked in the Sunday School area and it's allied programs as a teacher of the adult ladies class and participating in the Family Vacation Bible School. Six brothers and 2 sisters preceeded her in death. Brothers: Franklin, Rev. Johnny Wilson, Rev. R. S., Rev. J. R., Ishop,Jr., Frederick D. Porter, Sisters: Frances P. Anderson, Otta Mae P. Wesley.
