Courtland Leonard Wright, the son of Cheryl Hardy Wright and Leonard Wright, began his life's journey on July 30, 1997 in Meridian, MS. He passed away on April 4, 2022 in Virginia. Courtland grew up in a loving family. He was raised by many who loved him, including extended family and community members. Courtland was baptized at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Courtland was a 2015 graduate of Meridian High School where he was a member of the marching band and played the quad drums. In addition to his love of music, Courtland was an international traveler and avid swimmer. He also enjoyed spending time with loved ones. After graduatingfrom high school, Courtland joined the United States Navy. He was deployed to Japan for five years and Virginia for two years. With a specialty in Aviation Ordinance, Courtland took pride in his Navy service and the opportunities it afforded him to see the world, experience other cultures, and progress through a career. Courtland's memories will be cherished by his: parents, Cheryl Hardy Wright and Leonard Earl Wright; maternal grandparents, the late Ola Mae Hardy and Columbus Hardy, Sr.; paternal grandparents, the late . Lucille Hawkins McShan and the late Willie Wilson; partner, Tracey McVay, and her daughter, Robyn; brother, Torolyn Walker (Tamela); sisters, Monica Wright and Stacy Lynn Wright; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.
