Mrs. Cynthia Friend's Obituary
Cynthia Ola Radford Coleman-Friend was born on April 27, 1915 to the late Ozie and Sarah Radford. She was the only child born to this union, however, she had other sisters and brothers that preceded her in death. She became a life long member of St. Peter United Methodist Church of Marion, MS, after her confession of faith at age 9. Mrs. Friend served in many positions in the church over the years and was very active in the United Methodist Women until her health failed She married Mr. Lewis Coleman at an early age and became the mother of 2 boys. To the union of Lewis and Cynthia 1 0 children were born. They were married for 50 years. Mr. Coleman and 4 of their children preceded her in death. Three years following the death of her husband, she married a childhood friend, Mr. Willie Friend, at the age of 70. To their union an adult daughter was added to the family. She leaves to cherish her memory 9 children: Mrs. Evelyn Jones. Meridian, MS, Richard Coleman, Marion, MS, Charles(Fannie) Coleman, Montgomery, AL, Sarah (Roy) King, Marion, MS, Ora Barrett, Meridian, MS, Norman (Peggy) Coleman, Marion, MS, Oscar (Bonnie) Coleman, Meridian, MS., Cynthia Diann (Daniel) Willis, Meridian, MS, Ruby (James) Young, Mobile, AL, 30 Grandchildren, 53 GreatGrandchildren and 23 Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loving church family members.
