Mr. Daniel L. Earvin's Obituary
Mr. Daniel Lee Earvin was born December 24, 1943 in Newton County, Hickory, MS, to the late D. L. Earvin and Callie Mae (M. E.) Kendrick Earvin. He attended Hickory High School and was a member of the basketball team. His claim to fame as a basketball player happened in a game when he made a half-court shot. He graduate in 1963.
July 1, 1967 he married the love of his life, Miss Wilma Ruth Chapman of Newton, MS and they relocated to Meridian, MS. To this union one son was born, Reginald Dewayne Earvin.
At an early age, he was baptized at the Bethel Baptist Church, Hickory, MS. Later he united with the Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Meridian, MS. While a member, he served faithfully as a Deacon, Trustee, Counselor /Mentor for the Shepherd Boys, and Sunday School Superintendent until his health failed. During his career he worked for various companies. In 2010 he retired from Greater Meridian Health Clinic WIC Department as Supervisor.
Saturday, October 24, 2020 Daniel transitioned from his earthly home to be with the Lord. He was proceeded in death by his parents: D. L. and Callie Mae (M.E.) Earvin and an infant sister. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of fifty-three years Wilma Ruth Earvin, one son: Reginald Dewayne Earvin (LaDonna), grand-daughter La.Dena Mosley, one brother: Bennie (Birdie) Earvin of Hickory, MS, a faithful cousin: Annie Mae Moore of Newton, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
