Mr. Danny Earl Clay's Obituary
Danny (Dan) Earl Clay was born in Mississippi to parents, Angeline Carter and George Clay. Angie died when Danny was 8 years old. His aunt Mariah Pickens and his older brother, Lemuel Kelly, Sr. raised and molded the man we all know and love today.
Danny never met a stranger. His array of friends ran the gamut from boyhood friends to immigrants from other countries, many of whom he communicates with and attends their family weddings and funerals to share their unique cultures. The children of his friends and neighbors flock to "Mr. Danny" who wouldn't if you received a cool dollar bill whenever he showed up.
Danny met the man who was to become his mentor and godfather while in school in Meridian, Mississippi. Saul Ruffin was a funeral director and manager of Berry & Gardner Funeral Home Upon graduating from T J Harris High School. He was encouraged to attend the Atlanta College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia. He was on the board of Berry & Gardner Funeral Home and remains a consultant to this day.
