Mr. Darrion T. Clark's Obituary
Darrion Ty’Quez Clark, known by family and friends as “D. Clark”, was born February 6, 2002, to Kimberly Clark and Pedro Johnigan at Rush Foundation Hospital. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at University Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Darrion accepted Christ at an early age. He attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Meridian, MS.
Darrion’s early education begun at God Creation from 6 months to 3 years old. Then, he went to East End school. He eventually enrolled in the Meridian Public School District. At an early age, he found interest in sports. He became an incredibly talented youth player. He joined his first baseball team called Ace’s coached by Mr. Henry. During this time, he started receiving awards such as MVP. During his early education, he transferred to Lauderdale County where he attended Northeast Middle School. There he received more awards playing basketball, such as 8th grade basketball MVP, East Central Middle MVP, Lauderdale County tournament MVP, and defensive player of the year. He was also recognized for being the class clown. He eventually transferred back to MPSD where it continued his love for baseball and football. In 2016, he joined a basketball team called the Jayhawks, sponsored by Carter Foundation and coached by Ty Harden and Tarquez Hopson. During his time with the team, many championship titles were achieved.
Darrion was a loving, caring, and sweet young man. He loved being around family and friends. he loved making people laugh and helping others in any way. he had a smile that brought light to a room.
He would have been an upcoming Senior of Meridian High School, class of 2021. He was employed with Hardee’s and Cash Saver’s of Meridian.
He is preceded in death by his aunt Chiquita Denise Clark and his great-grandmother, Alene Franklin.
He leaves behind to celebrate his life and cherish his loving memories: his devoted mother, Kimberly Clark; step-father, Stacy Harris of Meridian, MS; father, Pedro Johnigan of Marion, MS; maternal grandparents, Shirlene Clark of Meridian, MS; Jimmie Knighton of York, AL; paternal grandparents, Arthur (Frances) Johnigan of Marion, MS; Aunt Latasha Clark of Meridian, MS; uncles: Aldophus Clark, Harold (Bobbye Ann) Clark, Eric Clark, and Demetrius Clark, all of Meridian, MS; Arthur (Latasha) Johnigan; Tommie Johnigan of Marion, MS; special cousins: Ty Harden, Desmond Lewis of Meridian, MS; Chelsea Hawkins of Houston, Texas; and a host of cousins and friends.
