Mr. David James Edwards' Obituary
David James Edwards was born on May 9, 1947 in Lauderdale County to James Robert Edwards and Aseline Cotton Edwards. David was born in Meridian, MS and later lived in Chicago, IL where he graduated from Harlan Community Academy High School in 1965. After graduating, he enlisted in The United States Air Force and served in Vietnam receiving an Honorable Discharge. After serving his country, he attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where he received his Master's in Business Administration. He then moved to Los Angeles, California where he worked as a loan officer at Bank of America for several years until he branched off to start his own company. A very successful businessman, David's first business was a 900 number company which led to his career as a commercial real estate agent. Later in life, after having great success as a real estate agent, he started his own investment company BlackWolf Investment, LLC where he served as President until his death. He enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had a spirit that would just attract others to love to just be in his presence. He was the type of friend who would always be there as much as he possibly could. He loved his social group who have become not only his friends, but his brothers. They loved to travel and just enjoy life. Although he loved and enjoyed his friends, David ABSOLUTELY LOVED spending time with his family. His smile would light up the room and his personality would turn your bad day into a good day. His laughs, smile, love and personality will truly be missed. He departed this life on December 23, 2023 at his residence in Marina Del Rey, CA. David was preceded in death by his parent~, James R. Edwards and Aseline C. Edwards; Stepmother Oretha Edwards; one brother Isaac Edwards; one sister Jeanette Edwards and one brother-in-law Herman Burnett. He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters,· Chadavia (Jeremy) Guyton of Dallas, TX and Candi Taylor of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren Janiya and Kingston Guyton; three brothers, Wayne Edwards of Morganfield, KY, Steve (Patricia) Edwards, Sr. of Daphne, AL and Robert Muhammad of Chicago, IL; four sisters, Barbara (Herman) Burnett, Dorothy (Charles) Stennis, and Arlene Edwards all of Meridian, MS and Cheryl Edwards of Phoenix, AZ; a host of nieces, nephews, family members and acquaintances who will forever remember and cherish him.
