Mr. David Lee Millsap's Obituary
David Lee Millsap was born July 14, 1940 in Hickory Mississippi; the only son to Lucille Hill and David Milsap, both parents preceded him in death. At the age of seven David and his mother moved to Chicago where he attended elementary school and graduated from Farragut High School in 1957. Soon after high school David enlisted in the United States Air Force where he received an honorable discharged in 1961. After military service David receive a position with the Chicago Transit Authority where he worked for 27 years and retired in 1988. On February 14, 1964 David married the love of his life, Aretha Morrison, whom preceded him in death, to this union 3 children were born. In 1972 the family relocated from Chicago, Illinois to Bellwood, Illinois. He raised his family in Bellwood and after he retired from CTA, he worked at Alamo Rent-ACar as a supervisor and RTA/PACE Bus Company for 7 additional years prior to relocating to Chunky, Mississippi. In 1998, after relocating David and Aretha started a small local business. David was no stranger to the community and was well known to everyone in his area. He was always there to help his neighbors, friends and family. David had a smile and a sense of humor that always kept you laughing no matter what and he was loved by many. David accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and attended United Methodist Church in Maywood, Illinois with his family. David answered the gentle voice of our heavenly father's call on Saturday March 20, 2021 and retired from his earthly labors to reunite with his wife and other loved ones that preceded him. David leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving children Angela Marie MillsapSimmons (Herman), Adrian Edwards Millsap (Tiffany), Blondella Brown (Barry) and Andre Millsap, and two special children Shenna Brown (who preceded him in death) and Nathaniel Brown. Grandchildren: Cortney Griffith, Jalisa Brown and Jawanza Brown, Great grandchildren Janyah Brown and London Brown. Sister in-laws: Alzater Hodges, Odessa Johnson (Charles), Ruby Edward. Brother In-laws: Eddie Morrison (Barbara) Leon Morrison (Shirley) and Jim Morrison and a host of family members and friends.
