Mr. David Ray Napier's Obituary
David "Ray" Napier, born August 30, 1946, in Lisman, AL, peacefully passed away on July 8, 2023. He was a devoted servant of the Lord, a minister, and a loving brother. David's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and his dedication to spreading the message of God's love. In his early years, David attended Melvin High School, Melvin, AL where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and a commitment to excellence. Throughout his journey, David felt the call of the Lord and his relationship with God flourished. Answering the call to ministry, he fervently proclaimed the Gospel and conducted tent revivals and radio sermons, leaving a lasting impact on his congregation. His heartfelt sermons touched the hearts of many and led them closer to the Lord. David's commitment to Christ extended beyond the pulpit. Known for his helpful nature and strong work ethic, he willingly assisted those in need. Among, his many activities, David developed a deep love for adventure, finding solace and freedom in his travels. This passion led him to a career as a professional truck driver for Boyd Bros Transportation Inc. and P & S Transportation for over wyears. His kindness and compassion left an enduring impact on all whom he encountered. Upon retirement, David relocated to Meridian, MS where he was embraced by a loving church community at Abundant Life Tabernacle, UPC. David was preceded in death by his parents, Loler and Parthena Napier, as well as his siblings Loler Napier, Jr., Beatrice Hudson, Josephine Greene, Narpless (Buddy) Napier, Lucille Pruitt, and Bernice Boyd. He is survived by his loving brothers Percy (Gwen) Napier of Belle Glade, FL, and Bobby Joe (Annie) Napier of Cuba, AL. Additionally, David is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, and friends. We gather to honor David's memory and find comfort in the knowledge that he now rests in the presence of his Heavenly Father. Let us celebrate his life and the profound impact he made on the lives of others. May his soul rest in eternal glory. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life: whoever believes in me even ifhe dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26
