Mrs. Debbie Kennedy Woodard's Obituary
Debbie Kennedy-Woodard was born on December 15, 1956, in Meridian, MS, to the late Herbert Kennedy and Lizzie Bernice Tubbs-Kennedy. As a young girl, she professed her love for Christ and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Debbie proudly attended the Meridian High School District. She briefly worked at Anderson Hospital before embracing her role as a stay-at-home mother for many years. Debbie loved listening to good music, dancing, entertaining family and friends at her home, and cooking, especially her unmatched potato salad and deviled eggs. She also enjoyed weekly bingo and trying her luck at the casino with friends and family.
On December 15, 2000, Debbie married Willie Woodard. Their love flourished for 24 years until God called her home. She deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Lamar Kennedy, Sonny Kennedy, Herb Kennedy, William (Larry) Kennedy, Tom Kennedy, and Robert Kennedy; and two sisters, Odella Kennedy and Bertha Kennedy-Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Willie Woodard; one daughter, Sabrina Kennedy (Tubbs); one son, Aljawon Kennedy-Hearn; a special nephew she raised as her son Lamar Kennedy, two grandchildren, Nia Roberts and Ericka Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Khi Roberts and Kayden Roberts.
She is also survived by her siblings: five sisters, Bobby King, Dianna Hinton (Eddie), Doris Howard, Angela Evans (Tommie), and Lisa Stevenson; and two brothers, Sherman Kennedy and Herbert Kennedy. Additionally, Debbie leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, and family who will miss her dearly.
