Ms. Deborah Lynn Smith's Obituary
Sister Deborah Lynn Smith was born March 19, 1955 in Chicago, IL to the late Thomas James Smith and Gladdis Jean Smith-Barrett. She would later call Meridian her home and would go on to graduate from Meridian High School. One of her earlier jobs was working at Imperial Cleaners, but soon thereafter she began working at a local nursing home. Taking care of others was always a gift of hers. Sister Deborah loved playing board games and spending time in her yard listening to music with family, as well as being very with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her daughter Yithasia Smith along with two bothers and one sister.
Sister Deborah passed away at St. Vincent's St Clair Hospital in Pell City, AL on May 5, 2024. She is survived by many who will miss her, including her loving partner of over 40 years, James Parker of Meridian, MS, her daughter, Melissa Smith of Meridian, MS, her granddaughter Myracle Smith of Birmingham,AL, two great- grandchildren Amire Crockett and Carter Smith of Birmingham, AL), one sister, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
