Mrs. Della Mae Thedford's Obituary
Della Mae Thedford was born on December 6, 1947 in Meridian, MS to William and Nancy Jenkins. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour at an early age. She always would say, "If the Lord is not in it, then it will fail." The Lord called her by name on February 24, 2022 and she now lives with Him forever more. Della married Columbus Thedford in 1966 in York, Alabama. The family moved to Iowa in 1968 where she was employed by Fizer for 41 years as a Pharmaceutical Technician. She retired in 2010. Della was the superintendent of Sunday School at Second Baptitist Church in Iowa for many years. She loved working with the adults and children to inspire and transform lives. Her favorite hobbies were traveling, cooking, family titime, shopping and inspiring others to accept Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour. Her favorite quote in life was: "You just never know." Love life, laugh, forgive and don't waste your titime and nobody else's." Della is preceded in death by her father, William Jenkins, and by her sisters: Carrie Jones from Memphis. TN and Betty Ann Spears from South Carolina. Her memory is cherished by her husband, Columbus Thedford, her mother, Nancy Jenkins, her sister, Allie Faye Matthews of Meridian, MS, and her brothers, William Jenkins, Jr. of North Carolina and Marville Jenkins of Meridian, MS. She is also loved and survived by her three children, Mike, Ken and Terance Thedford, six grandchildren, Avery, Ashton, Darius, Devonte, Jory and Ria and six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
