Ms. Denisha Clayton's Obituary
Denisha DeAnna Clayton, affectionately known as DeeDee, was born September 23, 1990, in Meridian, Mississippi to Angela Clayton and Joe Nathan Brown. Denisha received her education in the Meridian Public Schools and graduated from Meridian High School in May 2009. While in high school, she was in the ROTC. She was also a member of the Girl Powerlifting Team. In 2009, she was the winner of Meridian High School's Girl Powerlifting Team and her picture hangs in the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Museum in Jackson, Mississippi. After graduation, she became a mother to her heartbeat, Aaliyah Ashanti. She then joined the worliforce and became a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant. She later moved to Gulfport, Mississippi and in October 2019, she became a licensed cosmetologist. Her most recent job was at The Homestead Assisted Living Community in D'Iberville, Mississippi. Denisha loved life. She was a great person who loved to laugh and make others laugh. She was also an awesome friend who was willing to help anyone when she could. Denisha departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Singing River Hospital in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Aaliyah Ashanti Clayton; her mother, Angela Clayton; her father, Joe Nathan Brown; two sisters, LaShonda Clayton and her twin, Kandice Clayton; a brother, Chad Hall; her grandmother, Anna Marie Clayton; a nephew, Maddox Brown; a special stepsister, Keisha Nixon; a special stepbrother, Maurice Moore; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Ray Clayton and her great grandparents, Henry and Florence Walk.
