Mr. Derrick Leon Morris' Obituary
Derrick Morris was born October 2, 1970 to Helen Morris and George ray Purcell who proceeded him in death. His stepfather, Walter Rowry who was very special to him. Derrick was called home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2019.
Derrick Morris accepted Christ at an early age. he completed his high school equivalency exam. He later completed welding and trucking school and received his CDL license. After living in Meridian, MS. He later moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he worked at Amazon and drove for UBER. He enjoyed his life. He also worked at Saint Louis Blow Pipe. He favorite food was ketchup. Derrick Morris was married to Barbara Morris who had a special place in his heart. He had two children: a son, Cordell Eason (Deshunnica) of South Haven, MS; and a daughter, Ken’ja Easley of Meridian, MS. He leaves to cherish his memories: three brothers: Frederick Morris, Henry Armstrong and Tony Morris (Katherine) of Meridian, MS; three loving sisters: Nancy Westerfield, Maryann Neely (Harold), and Jacqueline Johnson (Terry) of Meridian, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by: two grandmothers, Mary Morris and Annie Griffin; two aunts: Georgia Walker and Maryann Griffin; two uncles: Sylvester Morris and Howard Griffin; and his Godfather, George Creer, a.k.a Hay Hay, who was very special to him.
