Mrs. Dessie Ruth Larkin's Obituary
Dessie R. Larkin was born November 19, 1940 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Furleaner Blanks and David Rentz. She was married to Otis Larkin Jr for 48 years. Dessie was employed by Peavy Electronics in Meridian Mississippi for 35 years until her retirement. Upon retirement, she became a Foster Grandparent at West Hills Elementary where she assisted with the kindergarten classes. She was loved by all. She entered into entirety on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian surrou.nded by family. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended El Betha! Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories three children Tony Larkin (Doris) of Warner Robbbins GA, Angela Gowdy (Larry) of Louisville KY, Darren Larkin (Gloria) Meridian MS. Eight sister and brothers Jesssie McCoy (Annie Ruth) of Flint Michigan, Carol Johnson, Bobby Johnson (Stephanie), Linda Newell, Abraham Johnson (Betty) of Meridian Mississippi, Lilian Rentz Selma AL and Jean Ash Cleveland OH and brother-in-law John Larkin and sister-in law Wydesssa Landrum (Bobbie), 10 grandchildren and two great grand children, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Dessie was preceded in death by her husband Otis Larkin Jr., parents Furleaner Johnson and David Rentz, and sister Fredna Burge.
