Mrs. Detrice Renee Cross' Obituary
Detrice Renee Cross was born on June 27, 1965 to the late Alice Ruth Brown and Robert Earl Dean in Meridian, Mississippi. She was educated in the Meridian Public School system and was a graduate of the Meridian High School Class of 1983. She was employed by Meridian Public Schools for 20 years. Detrice accepted Christ in her life at a young age and as an adult she was a dedicated member of Grace Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee. Detrice, or Black Beauty as she was affectionately known was a lively, loving people person who never met a stranger. She had a strong devotion for her family, love of cooking, and style for fashion all her own. She was known as the life of the party, with her sweet, fun, carefree spirit. She had a passion for serving and helping others especially kids by providing advice, making them laugh or offering up her home or food. Detrice untied in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Frankie Cross, to this union two children were born, Thomas F. Cross, Jr., and India Cross. Detrice would want us to remember her as a strong, beautiful Black Queen who lived life to the fullest. On Sunday, November 15, 2020, De trice felt the presence of God. She reached out her hand to the Lord and said "Father lead the way". She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas Frankie Cross, Sr., her children: Thomas (Quarrie) Cross, Jr., India Cross, LaFredia (Ondray) Harris, Candace Kelsie, Tequalia (Leon) Fields, Diesha (Chris) Lindsey, Kela Payton, and Natalie Hill; grandchildren: Destiny, DeOndray, Shaniah, Diamond, Thomas Ill Zane, Kinsley, Dillion, Chris and Skyler; two great-grandchildren: Ace and Maddison; three · szsters: Barbara (Anthony) Sneed, Zina (Stanley) Brown, Pamela (Gregory) Brown; one brother: Shawn (Tabitha) Brown; one sister-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, family and.friends who will miss her dearly.
Although her time with us was buried, her impact will last generations. May she rest in eternal peace.
