the one we loved and cherish stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it was only a step into another room and not stepping out of the fellowship of life.
Dewey Lee Shack, Jr. was born June 25, 1948 in Meridian, MS to th elate Dewey L. Shack, Sr. and Lessie Hartley Shack. he departed this life on April 7, 2017 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Dewey Shack Sr.; one sister, Judy Shack Wimberly; one son, Carlos Shack; and two grandsons.
he confessed to Christ at an early age where he joined Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church. He attended West End, Carver, Harris High School and Jackson State University. He was married to Carol Tureaud Dean. He was employed with: the United States Navy from September 10, 1968 through November 12, 1972; United Staes Coast Guard and the United States Postal Service.
he was a friend to many people. he was loving, caring and had a lot of love for family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking for his community.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Lessie Shack of Meridian, MS; 12 children: James Williams of Enterprise, MS; Talisa (Lawrence) Graham Willis of Meridian, MS; DaJuan Jackson of Long Beach, CA; Stephanie Jennings of Powder Springs, GA; Kama (Errol) Shack Manuel of LaPlace, LA; Patrick Sullivan of Chicago, IL; Gabriel Shack of Jackson, MS; Erica Brassfield, Eric Brassfield, Kimberly Hodges, Briton Brassfield and Vikia (Jeffery) Moore Lee, all of Meridian, MS; one sister, Barbara (William) Shack Lawrence of Jacksonville, FL; two aunts: Catherine Moore of Biloxi, MS; Bobby McCall of Homestead, FL and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
