Dianne Hill Lewis was born to the late Jessie Tom Hill and Bessie Bee Hill, on June 22, 1952 in Daleville, Mississippi. With the example of her late mother, Dianne became very involved in her community and accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church until her passing.
Dianne attended Middleton Attendance Center until schools were desegregated in 1969, and then attended and graduated from Northeast Lauderdale High School in 1970. Dianne then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Alcorn State University in 1974, and a Master's Degree from Mississippi State University later into her professional career. Dianne found and mastered the art of teaching 1st grade at Northeast Elementary School, and remained at Northeast Elementary School until her retirement in May 2006. While attending Alcorn State University, Dianne became of member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and was an active member for 52 years, granting her the distinguished honor of achieving the Crystal Dove status within the organization. Dianne was also very involved with the Girls Scouts of America and was the Troop Leader of Troop #769 housed at Antioch M.B. Church until her health impacted her ability to remain active in that capacity. However, in spite of physical limitations Dianne still enjoyed many aspects of her retirement by traveling with family, spending time with her six grandchildren, and attending Alcorn State University football games.
After 71 years of dedication to servicing her family and community, Dianne transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
