Mrs. Doris Louise Blanks' Obituary
Doris Louise Heidelberg Blanks was born July 17, 1947 in Vossburg, Mississippi to the late Lemon Heidelberg and Aresola Baker Heidelberg.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at Silver Spree Methodist Church in Vossburg, MS.
Doris educational years were spent at Gompers and Joliet Central High
School in Joliet, Illinois.
On July 5, 1969, she united in holy matrimony to Elroy Blanks. To this union three children were born.
Doris was a homemaker, and was very dedicated to her husband and children. She loved her family and did all she could to provide their daily needs.
She had a heart of gold and an infectious smile that would light up the world.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to church and being around her church family. Her most favorite pastime was fishing.
On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Jesus whispered softly, "Well done thou good and faithful servant, come unto me and rest," and without hesitation, Doris took his hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Quash Charles Heidelberg, and one sister, Shelly Heidelberg.
She leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by her loving husband of 54 years, Elroy Blanks; her son, Elroy Charles Blanks of Enterprise, MS; two daughters,Tanya LaFaye Chapman (Clifton), and Shirley Blanks both of Enterprise MS; three sisters, Janet Parker, Sharon Parker and Sheila Heidelberg all of Joliet, IL; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a special friend, Lois Lowery; godparents, Ira and Doris Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
