Ms. Doris Jordan Graham's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Jordan Graham was born on January 25, 1950 to the late Ernest and Mackie Lee Jordan in Meridian, MS.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in the Lost Gap community. She later united with New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chunky, MS.
She was educated with the Lauderdale County School System where she attended Middleton Attendance Center. After her educational tenure, she began her employment journey. She was employed at Super Inn as a Housekeeper for many years until her health began to decline.
Doris met a handsome young man by the name of Homer Graham. She became the apple of his eye and the love of his life and married on July 11, 1966. To this beautiful union, seven (7) children were born.
Doris was a special person who had a heart of gold and enjoyed to the fullest. She loved to travel, spend time with family, loved receiving “big plates” from various restaurants, and didn’t mind sharing her wisdom and knowledge with anyone who was willing to receive it. Even if her advice was the “honest and bold” truth, she shared with all the love she could possibly give. She was very loving, caring, and such a joy to be around and she will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Doris answered the call of God to come move into her Heavenly home on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Oschner Rush Health Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; two (2) bothers: Ernest Jordan, Jr. and Lee Mardis Jordan; and one (1) sister, Mary L. Johnson.
Doris leaves to honor her legacy and cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband of 5 years, Homer Lee Graham; three (3) handsome sons: Willie Graham, Homer Lee Graham, Jr., and Andrew Graham all of Meridian, MS; four (4) beautiful daughters: Lisa Graham Cole, Theresa Graham Hall, both of Meridian, MS; Angela Graham of Simpson County, MS; and Virginia Graham of Montgomery, AL; nineteen (19) grandchildren (four grandsons, and 15 granddaughters); fifteen (15) great-grandchildren; one (1) brother, Dolven Jordan of Fitzgerald, GA; one (1) sister, Fannie Mae Davis of Hattiesburg, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
