Mrs. Dorothy Malone Baskin's Obituary
Dorothy Mae Malone entered the old on October 22, 1940 in Meridian, MS. Her parents were the late Mr. Willie “Bryant” Malone and the late Mrs. Della Carlisle.
Dorothy Mae professed her faith in Christ at an early age. She joined St. Mary Missionary Baptist church where she praised and worshipped until God called her home. Dorothy Mae united in holy matrimony to Robert Lee (R.L.) Baskin on May 25, 1956.
Dorothy Mae closed her eyes for the late time here on Earth, Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Her life’s work on this side of heaven was done. God was ready for her. This kind, compassionate, sweet and loving woman will be missed by many. Nevertheless, we have the memories...memories of her generosity, love and wisdom will forever be in the hearts and minds of the lives she touched.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, Robert Lee Baskin; seven children: Tommie (Laura) Baskin, Brenda Baskin-Moore and Jan Baskin-Dixon of Meridian, MS, Robert (Dorothy) Baskin and Stephanie (Tony) Hickman of Brandon, MS, Mack Baskin of Pensacola, FL & Danny (Annette) Baskin of Vicksburg, MS; four sisters: Willie Mae (Lonzell) Aikens, Patricia Black, Irnell Henderson, all of Meridian, MS and Pamela (Dennis) Burns of Albany, GA; six brothers: John (Clara) Malone of Racine, WI, Frank (Elizabeth) Malone of Houston, TX, Billie (Bobbie) Malone, Jearl (Johnnie Mae) Malone, Arthur (Betty) Easley, Johnny Malone and James (Stacy) Malone all of Meridian, MS; one brother-in-law, AJ (Dorothy) Baskin of Meridian, MS; and grandhchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, General William “Bill” Easley, sister, Callie Wilson; Three brothers Willie Earl Malone, Johnny Easley, Joseph Easley; brother-in-law, James Henderson; granddaughter, Quantice Moore; and son-in-law, James Moore.
