Mrs. Dorothy Grady Crowell's Obituary
Dorothy Grady Crowell was born on November 25, 1925 to the late
Robert and Maude Grady.
At an early age, Ms. Dot attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Meridian, MS under the leadership of Reverend A. Jacobs, S.V.D.
She attended Meridian Public Schools.
Ms. Dot as she was affectionately known, passed away peacefully at
her home on September 3, 2020.
Later in life, she met and married Van Crowell. To this union five
amazing children were born. Her son, the late Harry Crowell (Dixie)
and his children, Teresa Tucker (Fred), Jamila Proctor, Priscilla
Crowell and Raymond Crowell; son: Ronnie Crowell (Bonnie) of Los
Angeles, CA and his children, Nina, Tonya, Patricia and Dorothy;
daughter: Gilda Williams (Larry) of Meridian, MS and her children,
Van Williams (Melba), Tressie Williams (Daryl) and Willie Williams
(Parrysh); daughter: Evelyn Shorts (Vincent) and her son Jeremy of
Cincinnati, OH; son: Jerry Crowell (Sarah) and his children, Cedric,
Scedonia Astawa (Effie), Jessica Davis (Wayne), Garrick Owens
(Lindsey), Justin Crowell (Felicia), and Tiara Dudley (Jonathan);
one sister, Joan Butler (Tommy) of Pasadena, CA and a host of great
grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends who will miss her dearlv.
