Mrs. Dorothy Jean Gowdy-Howard's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Howard was born December 19, 1977 to Georgia Mae Gowdy (Byron) of Huntsville, AL and Willie D. Overstreet of Lauderdale MS. She gave her life to Christ and became a member of El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She joined in union with Vice Howard on June 2, 2013 in Wayne County, MS. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Demarion Gowdy and two step daughters Bridget of Meridian, MS and Vicesha of Clinton, MS. She also leaves to cherish her memory a paternal grandmother Mattie Overstreet, two sisters Kim Hall (Derrick) of Birmingham, AL Billie; Jean Gowdy of Huntsville, AL and one brother, Willie Frank Gowdy of Meridian, MS. She leaves four aunts Linda Hicks (Reginald) of Meridian Ms. Patricia Overstreet of Lauderdale Ms. Shirley Huggins (Larry) and Dorothy Little (Henry) of Meridian, MS; eight uncles: Henry Overstreet of New York, NY; Tony Overstreet (Rolinda) of Meridian, MS; George Gowdy of Bay Spring, MS; James Gowdy, John Gowdy, Henry Gowdy of Meridian, MS; Billy Gowdy of Atlanta, GA; and Frankie Gowdy (Rebecca) of Hattiesburg, MS; and one brother-in law, Glenn Howard of Meridian, MS; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her maternal, grandparents Richard Gowdy Jr. and Lela Mae Gowdy; her paternal grandfather, Raymond Overstreet; and four uncles Henry Clayton, Ray Overstreet, William Overstreet and David Gowdy
