Mrs. Dorothy Louise Trussell's Obituary
Dorothy Louise Trussell was born on July 27, 1933 in Lauderdale, Mississippi to the late Jim and Argertha Smith. At an early age, she accepted Christ and united with Galilee Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. After completing her education, she began her career in nursing.
Dorothy united in Holy Matrimony with Jim Trussell who preceded her in death. To this union, six children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Jimmie Trussell; three brothers: Booker T. Smith, James Smith, and Bennie Smith; six sisters: Fannie Smith, Viola Smith Bourrage, Ruby Lee Brazill, Elaine Smith Grady, Legertha Smith Baskins, and Gustavia Smith Crowther.
It has been said that a wise mother gives her children roots and wings; roots to know where home is, and wings to fly off and practice what has been taught them. She has done her job well. A lifetime of love and precious memories will be cherished by her loving children: Henry Smith (Pauline), Lamar Trussell (Carrie), Betty Trussell- Bailey, Ruth Helen Pruitt (JD), and Lee Wayne Trussell, and one sister-in-law: Mary Smith.
Dorothy was well known to family and friends. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
