Mr. Earnest Hampton's Obituary
Mr. Earnest "Puddin" Hampton was born on February 24, 1954 in DeKalb, MS to the late Corine Hampton and the late Sammie Griffin. Mr. Hampton confessed hope in Christ at an early age and attended Brown Ridge Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS. Mr. Hampton was a long time employee of Hughes Supply Company for 35 years until his health failed him. In 1982 Earnest and Cloria Darden were joined in holy matrimony and to this union, three (3) children were born.
Mr. Hampton departed this life Thursday, February 5, 2015 at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, AL He was preceded in death by his parents, Corine Hampton and Sammie Griffin. Earnest leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of thirty-two years, Cloria; two (2) sons, Petty Officer First Class Chad Hampton of Madrid, Spain, Christopher Bryan Hampton (Ashley) of San Antonio, TX. One daughter, Chastidy (Cee-Cee) Hampton of Meridian, MS, Eight brothers, Tommie Hampton (Eva) of Preston, MS, Sammie Hampton (Annie), Sammie Earl Griffin (Anita) and Vincent Griffin of DeKalb, MS, Leonard Hampton of Meridian, MS, Arthur Lee Hampton (Evelyn) of Forest, MS, Eric Griffin of Milwaukee, WI, Anthony Johnson of Shuqualak, MS. Three (3) sisters, Effie Hampton and Mamie Wallace of Meridian, MS, Kathleen Griffin of Milwaukee, WI, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
