Mrs. Earnestine Gathright Roberts Saxton's Obituary
Earnestine Gathright Roberts Saxton was born on June 7, 1932 in Lauderdale County, MS, to the late Robert (R.B.) and Gertrude (Omega) Gathright. Earnestine joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. B. Washington Coats. She served faithfully as a member during her tenure there. After relocating to the city of Meridian, she joined Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health failed. Earnestine was a proud mother of ten children. One of which Nolan Roberts Jr. (preceded her in death). She also had three sisters and two brothers who preceded her in death. Survivors include her nine children: Rosie Ann Davis, Nora Stean Roberts, Derrick Roberts, and Eric Roberts, Julius Roberts (Jackie), Meridian, Mississippi; Linda Kay Davis (Willie Steve) Austin, Texas; Daisy Mae Willis, Meridian, Mississippi; Arkent Roberts (Denice), Meridian, Mississippi; and Michael Anthony Roberts (Gertrude), Meridian, Mississippi. Three Sisters: Bernice Williams, Meridian Mississippi; Lucille Temple, Jackson Mississippi; Inez Nelson, Oswego Illinois; Three Brothers: Tommy Gathright (Constance), Cleveland Gathright both of Meridian, Mississippi; Willie Gathright (Ladine) Dallas, Texas. One step Sister; Manola Irby (Tom), Manola's Brother Henry Irby; One Step Daughter; Gladys Saxton; The joy of Ernestine's heart was her 39 Grand children, numerable great grand children, a host of nieces, and nephews.
