Mr. Edward Earl Hodges' Obituary
Edward Earl was born December 5, 1953 to the late Leroy Sr. and Emma Pearl Hodges in Meridian, MS. He joined First Union Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. After graduating from Meridian High, Edward enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1973. Once he finished serving his term, he returned to Meridian and started working locally. During this time he met and dated Linda Faye Sheffield, and on June 16, 1984 they were married. They were Blessed with one daughter, LaTosha. He was a devoted Christian who taught Bible study for a time. He enjoyed walking and running for exercise and spending time with his family. He was a hard worker who won employee of the year, as well as employee of the month multiple times. He was a devoted family man. His love and support will be greatly missed by his wife and daughter. Known for his gentle spirit and kind ways, his departure leaves a space that's impossible to fill. His devotion to his wife and daughter can never be matched. He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Hodges Sr., his mother Emma Pearl Hodges, two brothers, Henry and Douglas Hodges, mother-in-law Bertha Sheffield and adored family pet Pebbles. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Linda, his daughter LaTosha, five bothers Leroy Jr. (Barbara), Eugene (Rosalynn), James, David, and William Hodges, three sisters, Jaunita Edwards (Farris), Lela Eaton, and Dorothy Marie Cole, brother-in-laws Alfred, Lavell, and Kenneth Dewayne Sheffield, sister-in-laws Christine McNeil (William), Lisa Evans (Levorne), Lizzie Ball, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
