Mr. Edward Johnson's Obituary
On January 26, 1936 the union of Clydie Drake Johnson and Rev. Mose Johnson was blessed with a baby boy named Edward.
Edward attended East End, Wechsler Schools and Harris High School.
Where he graduated with the 1958.
On December 24, 1959, Edward married the love of his life the late Shirley A. Stewart Johnson.
Edward loved to work with his his hands. Edward was employed by the City of Meridian for 42 years and retired in February 16, 2001. Edward loved helping others and volunteer at L.O.V.E Kitchen.
Edward was called to his heavenly home on June 21, 2024 at 8:00 am at Ochsner Rush Hospital. Preceding him in death are his parents, his three brothers: Fred, Ernest, and Fred and his two sisters Illea and May Johnson.
Edward leaves to cherish his memories are his four children: three daughters: Valerie (Armster) Young, Donna Griffin, and Bernadine Branche and a son James Edward (LaTasha) Johnson. Grandchildren:
Demetrish (Adria) Johnson, Tushayla Brown, Derrick Davis, Jasmine and Jessica Young, Edward (Natasha) Griffin, Erik (Chlandra) Griffin, Maurice Marshall, Ryann Branche, Jayla and James Johnson II. Great Grandchildren: M'Kayla, Venisha, Demondre, Marquis, Amari, London, Grayson, Michael, Jalani, Harmoni and Hyden Daily. Special Sister-in-Law: Nancy Stewart; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
