Mr. Edward C. Moss Sr.'s Obituary
Edward Charles Moss, St., was born August 29, 1955, in Butler, AL, to Lorenzo and Theola Moss. In his early years, Charles moved to York, Alabama, where he met his first wife. They were married in 1976 and had four children together. He was an extremely hardworking man who was kind and loving. At the early age of 13, Charles took on the task of working; he was never afraid of getting his hands dirty.
Throughout his lifetime, hard work was never something he feared. His personality could light up a room, and he never met a stranger. Charles could make anyone laugh with his friendly banter and bright smile. He had a personality that was as big as the moon. Few people could question his kindness. Charles would give you his last even if it meant he would be without. He was a man of many talents; he could rebuild an engine on a car and cook Sunday dinner. Fishing was one of his hobbies, as well as hunting, watching Western movies, and listening to blues. He enjoyed being in the company of family.
Edward Charles Moss, Sr. found solace and purpose in his faith when he joined the First Baptist Church of York, AL, a significant milestone in his spiritual journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Theola Moss; his sisters, Lorene Moss, Claudean Bell, Barbara Ann Ruffin, and Susan Hargrove; his brothers, Douglas Moss, Wilie Fredrick Moss, and grandson Corey J. Moss, Jr.
Edward Charles Moss, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory five children: Edward Charles Moss, Jr. of Jacksonville, AL., Daphne M. Robinson (Tomorris, St.) of Pooler, GA, Corey
J. Moss, Sr. of Huntsville, AL, April D. Moss of Huntsville, AL., and Alisha Love of Youngstown, OH. Twelve grandchildren: Tomorris Robinson, Ir., Jaylen Moss, Tamerria Robinson, Myeisha Moss, Jamèlin Love, Zakarie Chestnut, Samari Moss, Amir Love, Se'Dora Moss, Tamya Moss, Awnaè Love, and Ariel Moss. As well as two great-grandchildren: Titan Robinson and Mia Love, His legacy also includes seven brothers, four sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Edward Charles Moss, Sr., was not just a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to those who loved him. He was a beacon of light. His smile, laughter, and original jokes brought joy to so many. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who know him. Rest Well, Edward Charles Moss, Sr. (Charles).
