Mr. Edward Earl Porter, Sr.'s Obituary
Edward Porter was born on November 3, 1954 to the late Charlie and Birda Mae Porter. He departed this earthly life on June 4, 2020 at Rush Foundation Hospital, Meridian, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Charlie Ben Porter and a sister, Helen Joyce Satcher. Ed attended East Jasper School District in Heidelberg, MS. He worked many different jobs. He was a hard and dedicated employee with Jeffrey Stevens Logging until his death. Ed joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. J. D. Ducksworth. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, basketball and grilling for his family. Ed leaves to cherish his memories: a loving companion, Mary Brinston of 37 years; 3 children: Crystal (Travis) Heidelberg; Edward Earl Porter, Jr. of Heidelberg, MS; and Michael Earl White (Natasha) of Laurel, MS; three (3) brothers: William Porter of Heidelberg, MS; Terry Porter of Stonewall, MS; and Alvin Porter of Capitol Heights;five (5) sisters: Shirley Kendall of Laurel, MS; Carmen Merrell of Laurel, MS; Doris Sims, Patricia Roulhac of Camp Springs, MD; and Quincey Trull of Chicago, IL; four (4) grandchildren: Distiny Holmes, Darmarcus White, Jabarious White and Jamarcus Ford.
