Mrs. Elese D. Manning's Obituary
On July 7, 1926, a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Ellis and Elsie Washington. They named her Elese Delores. She received her education in the Meridian Public School System. After attending elementary and middle school at Wechsler Junior High, she graduated from T.J. Harris High School. Elese married the love of her life, Lamar Manning, Sr. and from this union four (4) children were born. Her husband preceded her in death. She was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed and fishing was her favorite thing to do. Elese's love for her family was unconditional and expressed that love with her dedication and devotion. Not only did she love her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, but she also shared that same unconditional love with the members of other families in the neighborhood and community. She was very proud of her children and would talk about them to all who would listen. She taught by example because she exemplified inner and outer beauty, poise, grace, dignity and pride. She was soft spoken, but when she spoke, everyone listened. She was a quiet yet assertive woman; strong yet, gentle; a wise and smart, talented, personable lady who could be sassy, but classy; spiritual, yet social. She loved her life and lived it to the fullest.
"Of all beautiful things in life, the most beautiful is character, and she who possesses a beautiful character is worthy of notice," and Elese was worthy of notice. She transitioned into ekmal life on August 24. 2020 from the Popular Springs Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel and Vera, brother, Theodore, and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Manning. Those who will remember her sweet spirit and await their reunion are her four (4) children; Lamar, Jr., Calvin and Theodore Manning and Deborah Lluyd; Twelve grandchildren; Renise, Vickia, Tracy, Theodore, Jr., Mickia, Tara, Darrell, Cory, Ronald, Nicole, Reginald and Shuncy, great grandchildren: Kennedy Elese, Mason and Ryan, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends 'Some time a stand of Sorrow, is added to His plan. And though it's difficult for us, we still must understand, That it is He who fills the shuttle. It is He, who knows what's best, So we must weave in patience and leave Him to do the rest.
