Ms. Elizabeth Ann Jones' Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Jones was born to the union of Lawrence Jones and Isola Jackson Jones on September 18, 1947 in Meridian, MS. Affectionally known as "Liz,'' she was the youngest of four children, including Billy "Buck" Jones, Dorothy "Dot" Jones-Davenport and Tom Jones. At an early age, "Liz" confessed Christ and united with the Mount Olive M.B. Church under Rev. C. 0. Inge in Meridian, MS in Meridian, MS. She later united with West Mount Mariah M.B. Church under Rev. Odell Hopkins in Meridian, MS. In 2012, "Liz" elected to reunite with Mount Olive M.B. Church under Rev. A. D. Lewis. As a dedicated member of the aforementioned churches, she served in many capacities, including Church Clerk, Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Gospel Chorales and Executive Assistant to Rev. A. D. Lewis, President of the East MS Baptist State Congress of Christian Education. "Liz" attended and graduated from the public schools of Meridian, MS where she participated in many cultural and social clubs and activities. She received her Bachelor's, Master's and Specialists Degrees from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS. "Liz" was employed as a Secretary in the Meridian Public Schools system, a Secretary at Meridian Community College, a teacher at Jackson State University, the Coordinator of the Job Training Program at MS State University Meridian Campus, the Coordinator of the Lauderdale County Schools Job Training Program and a Tax Preparer-Consultant for H&R Block Tax Services in Meridian, MS.
