Mrs. Elizabeth Duncan Peters' Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth "Bee" Duncan Peters was born to Willie Ann (Lindsey) & William Duncan on May 10,1934, in Carmichael, MS. She transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on May 11th. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie Peters, son Michael Robertson; grandson, Geraldo Lee; sister, Willie "Lodie" Altman, brothers: Charlie Duncan, RJ Connor & Johnny Connor; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Duncan; son-in law, Rev. Robert Du Bose Jr. & brother-in-law, Carl Peters. Mrs. Peters was affectionately known as "Ms. Bee." She loved God, her family & community. Church-She joined the Center Ridge Baptist Church & served in the capacities of President of the Pastor Aide & Dietary, member of the SR. Choir, 101 Voices of Inspiration, The Women of Excellence & The Intercessory Prayer Warriors. She remained faithful in presence until her health declined. Bishop Carter also honored her with an Honorary Theological Dr. Degree. Family-Mrs. Peters was a very well-organized homemaker and excellent cook. For years, Sunday evenings at her house were a time of fellowship with fun, food, laughter & sweet tea. Besides her own children, she also nurtured many grand & great grandchildren. She had a very distinctive recipe for sweet potato pie, collard greens, potato salad, homemade banana pudding & checker board cake which will be carried on by her grands:Ricky,Rita,Robin,Regina & Romona. Community-"Ms. Bee" didn't mind sharing her love and kindness to anyone who entered her home. If you were hungry, she fed you. If you were thirsty, the sweet tea was ready. She was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. Those left to cherish her precious memories and to honor her beautiful life are: her daughters, Ruby Du Bose & Minnie Jasper of Shubuta,MS; sons: Alvin Duncan, Terry Roberts of Shubuta,MS; Charles Calloway of Brandon,MS; Arthur Duncan of Milwaukee,WI; Fitzgerald(Katina) Roberts of Quitman,MS and Paul(Yulanda) Brown of Quitman,MS; 32 grand children,41 great grand children, 15 great-great grand children,Sister-in-laws: Ethel Peters Whitfield of Waynesboro,MS; Jaqueline Peters Brown of Shubuta,MS; Rosie Peters Jones of Ellisville,MS;; Nanette Peters Bester of Ellisville,MS;; brother in laws: Herman Peters of Jackson, MS; Lawrence Peters of San Diego,CA; 4 nieces, 1 special friend, Mrs. Georgia Carter & a host of other relatives & friends.
