Mrs. Ella M. Amerson's Obituary
Ella Mae Humphrey Amerson was born on July 9, 1951 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to the late Sam and Louvertia Humphrey. At an early age, she confessed a hope in Christ and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Ella Mae was a graduate of T.J. Harris High School. After receiving her certificatipn as a Nursing Assistant, she worked at Rush Hospital for several years. She later became a Certified Dietician and gained employment at Queen City Truck Stop. On August 8, 2008, she united in marriage to Jonas Lee Amerson. She had a joyful spirit and always had a smile on her face. Anytime she conversed with someone, they left her empowered. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was also an avid reader. Her favorite color was purple. Ella Mae was the founder of The International Prayer. She reached and touched many lives through prayer. On April 12, 2023, Ella Mae Amerson transitioned from this life into the presence of God's bosom to rest, where there will be no more sorrow, sickness, tears nor pain. Ella Mae was preceded in death her father, Sam Humphrey, her mother, Louvertia Humphrey, her brothers, Willie Humphrey and Dennis Humphrey, and her great-niece, Me'Neisha Warren. She leaves a legacy of love and memories to be cherished by: her loving husband, Jonas Lee Amerson; two devoted sons: James Glass and Damium Glass; six stepchildren; four grandchildren: TyBreshia, Broklyn, Aaliyah, and Justin; three sisters: Betty Humphrey of MS; Carrie Russey (Ray) of LA; and Shirley Tucker (Wilson) of Texas; two brothers: Sam Humphrey Jr. of GA; and Robert Humphrey of MS; three aunts: Helen Thomas, Beatrice Jordan, and Dorothy Humphrey; God daughter Jewolanda Warren; three brothers-in-law: Wiley, William, and George; fourteen nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
