Mrs. Ella Grace Carter Walk's Obituary
Sister Ella Grace Carter-Walk was born on June 09, 1943, to Willie L. Carter and Wille Merle Jones in Meridian, Mississippi.
She united in holy matrimony to CL Walk on September 24, 1962, and to this union seven children were born. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, Grandmother, great-grandmother, Mother-n-law, aunt, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. She had a special love, compassion, and a nurturing spirit to all she encountered. Two of her favorite phrases were, “I love everybody” and “Let us love one another.” She had a beautiful and bright smile that would light up the darkest room.
Sis. Ella Grace Walk was a faithful and dedicated member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and attended regularly. She served in various capacities throughout her years: Sunday School Teacher, Choir President, Home Mission President, Kitchen Committee Chair, and any other things she could do to be a servant to God and mankind.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Stepfather (Rujay Easley), Stepmother (Annie Carter), Stepbrother (Billy Ray Easley) and her “Baby Girl” Sheila Walk.
Those who remain to cherish her loving memories: Her Loving and devoted husband of 58 years Rev. CL Walk of Meridian, MS. Seven Children: Debra(Xekel) Rivers, Patricia(William) Everette, Ronnie(Stephanie) Walk, Dr. Brenda(Otis) Coleman, Melvin(Lisa) Walk and Samantha(Darryl)Hunter all of Meridian, MS. Twelve Grandchildren: Ebony Moore, Teena Walk, Jamarious Moore, Rodney Walk, Joshua(Raven) Hunter, Jeremy Walk, Kendrick Walk, JaCatherine Wilson, JaCaleb Wilson, Joshua Everette, JaCody Wilson and JaCory Wilson, Six Great-Grandchildren: Ethan Campbell, Londyn Campbell, Bryson Walk, Josiah Moore, Jaisla Hunter, and Madyson Moore. Three Stepsisters; Louise Nealy, Apple Valley, California, Eva P. Young, Meridian, MS, and Daisy Hubbard, Cleveland, Ohio. Two Sisters-n-Law; Effie (Leon) Betts, Bobbie (Billie) Malone, one special Brother-n-Law, Lee Phillip Walk all of Meridian, Ms. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who truly loved her, and whom she loved dearly. A special niece, Phyllis Alford, who went above and beyond doing anything that needed to be done for her Aunt Ella Grace. Sis Ella Grace Walk will be dearly missed, and her spirit will live with us always.
