Elnora was the ninth of twelve children born to this union, all preceding her in death, with the exception of her sister Ruth and brother Wilbert. On the morning of October 22, 2016, Elnora laid down to rest after she prepared her husband's morning breakfast. With her husband GW by her side, the Lord called her home. Elnora was reared in Rose Hill, Mississippi, in the Tioch Community. At an early age, she joined the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church where she faithfully attended and accepted Christ as her Savior. As a girl growing up, she was smart in her own way. She completed twelve years of education at Jasper County Agriculture High School. Through life experiences Elnora continued her education. On September 27, 1947, Elnora met the love of her life, GW Chapman, Sr. They united in Holy Matrimony. Upon Elnora's marriage to GW, she moved to Newton County in the Mt. Moriah Community. She joined and was baptized at the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church to be with her husband. To their union was born three girls and one boy; Kersena Joyce, Glenda Yvette, Carol Deloris, and GW Jr. Elnora loved her husband and her family and remained devoted to them as a wife and mother. In Denver, Elnora joined New Hope Baptist Church. As a faithful member of the Church, she actively served on the Women's Booster Club and sang in the choir. She was employed at General Rose Hospital for 20 years as a Surgical Instrument Technician and was a diehard Bronco fan. In 2005, Mrs. Chapman retired from work and moved back to Newton, Mississippi. Elnora re -joined Mt. Moriah M.B. Church, enjoyed being with her husband, working in her flower garden, and taking mini -vacations with her daughter. Elnora loved the Lord, her church, serving the Lord, praising Him in a spiritual way. She was a caring and loving person to all who knew her; a spiritual hug she would give. Her favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you". Her family fondly remembers "Punkin" walking around the house, cheerfully singing one of her favorite songs, "Have a Little Talk with Jesus". Elnora's protectiveness that she had for her family, her outgoing personality, and her generosity to others are some of her characteristics that her family will always cherish. No one was a stranger to her as she welcomed everyone into her life with open arms. She is survived by: her loving husband of 69 years, GW Chapman; beloved children, Kersena J.
