Mrs. Emma Lee Lewis' Obituary
Emma Lee Lewis was born on September 13, 1927 to the late Dennis and Emma Elizabeth Hardy McDonald. Mrs. Emma Lee Lewis departed this life on June 11, 2016. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Collinsville, Mississippi. Emma Lee served faithfully in various capacities within the church until her health failed. Sister Emma Lewis united in holy matrimony with Reverend Esaw Lewis on December 5, 1942. Within the union, they raised nine children and were devoted to one another for over 51 years until death separated them on June 6, 1994. Sister Lewis was a devoted employee of Saint Joseph Hospital until her retiring in 1987. She loved attending church and working in the kitchen. Two of her favorite dishes to prepare were Banana Pudding and Chicken with Dumplings. Whenever she was not at her place of employment, you could find her at church diligently working in the house of God. Her favorite pass times were occupied with sewing, quilting and crocheting. Sister Lewis was preceded m death by her loving Husband Reverend Esau Lewis, One son: Charles 'Barry' Lewis, Two daughters: Shirley Ann Frances, Rose Mae Taylor, One devoted son -in-Law Montague Taylor, Sr. and One granddaughter Deborah Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: One Brother William McDonald, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Five Sons: Benjamin (Carol) of Pemberton, New Jersey, James (Pearl), Orlando Florida; Walter, Meridian, Mississippi, Perry (Dianne), Collinsville, Mississippi; Gregory (Flossie) Philadelphia, Mississippi; F erlinda Boose, Collinsville Mississippi. One Son-in-Law, Lee Francis, Wyoming, Delaware; A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Also, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren .
