Mr. Ernest "John John" Jackson's Obituary
Ernest Keith Jackson was born to the parents of Alice Faye Brown Jackson and Ernest Lee Jackson on April 9, 1970 at the former St. Jospeh Hospital in Meridian, MS. He was known by family and many others as “John John”, “John” or “J.J.”
Mr. Jackson graduated from Meridian High School where he actively participated in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Program to learn citizenship, leadership, character and community service.
At an early age, he joined the former Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Meridian, MS where he diligently served as an Altar Boy and enjoyed lighting the altar candles. He also became a Boy Scout Member.
Mr. Jackson visited various churches in the area to not only receive Scripture, but he did not shy away from delivering his version of Bible Scripture.
He loved to socialize and rarely met a stranger and would often frequent local funeral homes to not only volunteer his services whether it was to help dig a grave, direct a funeral procession to park traffic or making a tent set-up for funerals, but to just lend a helping hand whenever and however he could. He would also express his condolences by visiting with families after a funeral, at the repast.
He loved food and seldom turned down a good meal wherever he could find one and would brag about the food in New Orleans when he would travel by train to visit with friends.
At the young age of 51, he departed this earthly life on June 10, 2021 at Rush Specialty Hospital, Meridian, MS.
Mr. Jackson leaves to celebrate his life: a sister, Aprille Jackson of Meridian, MS; two aunts: Betty Brown and Patsy Brown, both of Meridian, MS; two uncles: Billy Brown of Meridian, MS; and Lamar Brown of Newport, Virginia; along with a host of cousins and friends who will forever miss him.
Although his time with us was brief, his impact will last for generations. May he rest in eternal peace.
