Rev. Ernest D. Stringfellow's Obituary
Ernest D. Stringfellow was born July 4, 1932 in Meridian, Mississippi to John Wesley (“J.W.”) and Jewel Bose Stringfellow. He departed this life on August 28, 2015 at Queen City Nursing Center. Ernest gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Ernest was called into the ministry in the early 1950’s, followed by him becoming a member of St. James A.M.E Church.Rev. Stringfellow pastored several churches throughout Mississippi. His favorite song was “Come by Here”.
He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Stringfellow, Sr., two brothers, John W. Stringfellow, Jr. and Warren C. Stringfellow. Earnest leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Ira Mae Stringfellow, four daughters- Ernestine Stringfellow and Yolanda Marie Watts of Meridian, MS; Angela Renee Stringfellow of Humble, Texas and Stephanie Stringfellow of Atlanta, Georgia. Three sons:Alonzo Stringfellow, Tyrone Stringfellow and Aaron Stringfellow of Meridian, Mississippi and ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ernest also leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Mrs. Jewel Boose Stringfellow of Lithia Spring, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Lewis Shadwick of Meridian, MS and Mrs. Daisy (Joe) Louis of Lithia Spring, Georgia.Ernest will also be truly missed by five nieces and four nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
