Mrs. Essie Mae Houston's Obituary
Mrs. Essie Mae Houston of Kemper County MS was born June 10, 1956 to John(late) and Mae Bell Grace of Dekalb, Mrs. Essie Mae or "Mone" as she was so affectionately known as, was studying with the Jehovah's witness with the Kingdom Hall of Meridian, MS. She was a very caring and loving individual. She never met a stranger and that infectious laugh would draw you in, and you would instantly fall in love with her. She loved to cook, and she loved her family dearly. She would dance the night away at any family function and be the first person to pose for a picture. In 1992, Essie met Willie Houston. They were married in the Spring of 1999. She lived in Meridian, Ms until her passing at Jeff Anderson Regional Hospital on November 23, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her father, John Grace, five brothers, Johnny Ray Grace, Marvin Junior Grace, Bobby Earl Grace, James Grace, Lee Roy Grace, one sister, Shelia Renae Mosley, and grandparents Lonnie Heam, Gussie Heam, Will Grace and Albertha Grace. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Her mother Mae Bell Grace, Six brothers: Elmo Grace (Emma), Jimmy Grace, Charles Grace, Tommy Grace (Iris), Clifton Grace, Howard Grace (Valarie) Six Sisters: Rita Faye Smith, Betty Grace, Denise Grace, Latoya Grace, Lois Hudson, and Tonya Starks. Seven dedicated and devoted children, Curtis Grace (Shirley) Little Rock, Darrell Smith (Mary), Scherrie Melissa Smith Meridian, Nick Smith Meridian, Marco Smith (Nikki) Meridian, Daniel Smith (Matty) Meridian and Derrick Smith AKA Deeva (Slim) Meridian. Two special daughters, Tiffany Cherry, Tanesha Bradford, one special cousin, Micheal "Doorknob" Grace and special niece, Toneka (Neen) Sims. She leaves thirty five grandchildren: Marquez,Jerreco, Lavicki, Darrell Jr., Brosalyn, Takira, Lakeith, Larry, Lamarcus, Santonio,Jadarius,Ja'kiyah,Jartavious, Khole, Nicosha, Nic'Qundria, NickJr., Nicqundre, Nicvontae, Nicshanti, Kiyah, Icess, Jamarco, Devin, Janesha, Laniya, Jaquarrius, Deuntre, Mason, Aidan, August, Phylicia, Johnathan, Matt and London and five great grandchildren: Solyric, Jayden, Larry Jr., Blake, Lamarcus Jr. and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and cousins.
