Mrs. Ethel Mae Hubbard's Obituary
Ethel Mae Hubbard was born December 21, 1948, in Lauderdale, MS to Earl Tubbs and Mary Lewis.
Ethel accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was a devout believer. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 "And be ye kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ sake has forgiven you". Ethel lived her life according to that scripture. Ethel loved the Lord and lived her life reflecting that. Ethel was educated in Meridian, MS and that is where she met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Davis Hubbard. Ethel married Jimmy Hubbard, Sr. in November 1969 and to this union they had 5 children. Jimmy Davis Hubbard, Sr. departed this life in January 2017. Ethel worked as a Cook and Health Care Professional for many years, she always had a servants heart that would help or feed anyone in need. Ethel loved to love on people, she loved to cook, she would feed anyone that was hungry and she had a personality that drew people to her. Ethel was a believer first and foremost and a loving and dedicated mother. She treasured her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She embraced every moment that she shared with them. She treasured the laughs and the memories with her family. Her most prized role was "Granny" and she enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to ride a bike, how to fish, play basketball and how to dance. Our Mother made friends with everyone she came in contact with, to her everyone was a friend. Mother was very well known for her delicious food, her most requested foods were pies, cakes, candied yams and fried fish. Ethel Mae Hubbard was preceded in death and now reunited with her parents, Earl Tubbs & Mary Lewis, Her husband Jimmy Hubbard, Sr. & Five Siblings; Annie Lewis, Earl Lewis, Roosevelt Lewis, Eddie Lewis, Sallie Lewis. Ethel Mae leaves to cherish her memory: Five Children, Amanda Franklin (Hopkinsville, KY), Jimmy Hubbard Jr. (Cerulean, KY), Daniele (Dewayne) Booker (Meridian, MS), Anthony (Saprina) Hubbard (Prince Frederick, MD), April Hubbard (Cadiz, KY), Two Sisters; Emily Brown & Earline Hopson (Russell, MS), Robert James (Lula) Lewis (Ft. Dodge, IA), a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
