Mrs. Florine Lyons' Obituary
Mrs. Florine Holton Lyons was born in Bailey, Mississippi on March 17, 1925, to Willie Holton and Maybell Holton. She departed life peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband Menzo Lyons, her son Winfred Lyons, three brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Lyons accepted Christ at an early age, and her father was a pastor. She united with Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she remained active, prior to her long-term illness. She was tenderly cared for, by her daughter, during her illness. She was married to Menzo Vanburen Lyons, and they had ten children. Mrs. Lyons received her education at Bailey Vocational School in Bailey, Mississippi. She was a loving mother and very active in church and community activities. She served on the Usher Board, Quilting team, and Cooking Ministry, at Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was well known in he Bailey Community for her charitable works. She will be missed and remembered by her loving children: Ms. Helen Wooten of Midland, TX; Mr. Allen Lyons of San Diego, CA.; Ms. Devora Cunningham of Detroit, MI.; Mrs. Christine Hershey and husband Robert, of Milwaukee, WI.; Ms. Diana Lyons of Bailey, MS.; Mr. Menzo Lyons of Indianapolis, IN.; Donald Lyons and wife Evadna of Meridian, MS.; Lorraine Gay and husband Christopher, of Melbourne, FL.; Mrs. Andrea Williams and husband Rev. Ricky Williams of Riverdale, GA. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
