Mrs. Frances Elaine Conner's Obituary
I know this moment has brought a lot of grief and pain, but l want you to know that l have arrived in a place that my heart has always longed for. I am at peace, pain and sorrow free and most of all, very happy. It's so hard to tell you about my life in this small space, but l will try. I was born Frances Elaine Hammond in Columbia, MS on August 15, 1960 to Edward Evon Hammond and Myrtis Hammond-Magee. As a young girl, l cherished my childhood and family members in Oakvale, Blue Springs and many other quiet, country parts of Mississippi. For a while, I attended East Marion High School before moving to Milwaulwe, WI to finish my education at North Division High School. In Milwaukee, I discovered my love for Jesus, my musical gifts and talents as a businesswoman. In addition to becoming a wife and mother, I spent many years nurturing and directing choirs in the Baptist tradition at Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, The Way of the Cross Missionary Baptist Church, New Jerusalem Evangelistic Temple and many others. I especially enjoyed working with the Wisconsin Mass Choir. I received an associate's degree in business from Bryant and Stratton College (Milwaukee) and later founded Robbins Secretarial Agency which flourished for several years. Later in life, I returned to my home in Mississippi and continued sharing my musical gifts with the Church of God in Christ, Inc. where I was elevated to a licensed missionary and evangelist. I cherish the time I spent at Amazing Church of God in Christ (Foxworth, MS) and many other churches in the Foxworth COGIC district. We knew how to praise God! Yes,my life was difficult. I cried and asked the Lord why many times, but now I am with Him and I understand. Although I am preceded in death by my parents Edward Evon Hammond and Myrtis Hammond-Magee and brother Cornell Abram, I also leave behind a loving husband; my stepmother Essie Hammond; beloved children, Kameka (Kenny) Harrison, Karly Robbins, Kimberly Beamon and Karen Robbins; my brothers and sisters, Ollie (Frank) Mayes, Joann Johnson, Jerry (Greta) Johnson, Shirley Hammond, Lisa (Jerome) Hammond-Johnson, Cindy (Floyd) Harris, Fred Hammond, Lillian B. Hammond; and a host of cherished family and friends.
