Mrs. Frances Mae Boyd Davis' Obituary
Frances started her life as the only surviving twin, leaving her brother in God's hands on August 11, 1953. She was the sixth child, out of 10 children born to the union of the late Mr. Johnny Jim and Mrs. Bunnie Jean Boyd. She started her homegoing celebration on February 21, 2016 at the Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frances accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Brown Ridge Baptist Church at an early age and continued her faith at the Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frances grew up as a happy child, full of laughter, joy, and happiness. Frances made friends wherever she went. She was the caregiver for her younger siblings. Frances graduated from Whisenton High School in 1972 and developed a passion for music, playing the clarinet in the band. She also had a passion for dance, even when no one was looking. On February 1, 1974, she joined AW Davis in Holy Matrimony. Shortly after, AW whisked her away to Las Vegas where she resided until her homegoing. To this beautiful union, two children were born. Frances worked years on the family farm before leaving Mississippi. She joined the Job Corps and resided in New Jersey. After moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, she worked for Cactus Mountain as an Administrative Assistant; Stardust Resort and Casino as a kitchen aide; the Clark County School District as a Teacher's Aide; a Casino Porter for the Desert Inn Hotel; and as a hostess at Carson Street Cafe in the Golden Nugget Hotel. The greatest of all jobs for Frances was being a devoted mother. Frances leaves a legacy of love and memories to her family. She leaves to cherish her them; one daughter, Robin D. Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; one son, Lt. Commander Anthony W. (Renado Irene) Davis and two grandchildren (Bryce and Bella) of Las Vegas, currently stationed in Annapolis, MD. She leaves behind four sisters: Rose (Horace) McDowell of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mary (Harry) Mobley, Carrie Boyd, all of DeKalb, MS; and Diana (Gene) Powell, Maryland; and one brother: Frank (Janice) Boyd of Philadelphia, MS and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and other relatives and friends.
