Freddie Lavern Martin was born January 1, 1948 in Meridian, MS to Florida Mae Sims and Henry Mack Martin. He was a hard-working family man and lived life to its fullest. He enjoyed sports and participated in city league games as a young adult. He loved spending time with family and attending sporting events of his grandchildren. He recently developed a hobby of bird watching. He had a loving and caring spirit and enjoyed conversing with other about life situations.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Martin; his son, Frederick Martin; and his grandson, Diqwun Martin.
To cherish his memories, he leaves a sister: Glenda Martin Whitlock of Grove, GA; a daughter, Wanda Martin of Petal, MS; three sons: Kenneth Williams, Derrick Adams, and Travis (Latisha) Martin, all of Meridian, MS; ten grandchildren: Erica (Brandon) Dillard of Petal, MS; Kedrick (Courtney) Martin of Columbus, MS; Derricas (Lasenia) Martin of Hattiesburg, MS; Roddricas Martin, Derrick Watts, Lateisha Adams, Tavarus Gordon, Elaina Martin, Kamari Martin, and Tre’el Martin, all of Meridian, MS; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
