Mr. George Washington Lewis' Obituary
George Washington Lewis was born in Bonita, Mississippi to Marion and Ada Lewis. He lived the majority of his life in Meridian, Mississippi. He was called by several names, such as G.W., Unk, and Mr. Lewis. However, none of these names were as sweet as the name Jesus called him, "My child." On Thursday, July 12, 2018, God called his servant and he answered his call. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. George gave his childhood life to Christ at Wesley United Methodist Church. Later in life, he united with Jehovah Witness George blessed the United States Army, teacher, and above all his barber profession. George was a person that shared his love freely. He gave joy to many and never met a stranger. However, his passion was children. Through the years, he went to football games, baseball games, basketball games, and programs to support the ones he loved. George was proceeded in death by his parents; one son, Jaren Lewis; and several brothers and sisters. George is survived by two daughters, Lisa Harbin, of Oakland, California and Lillie Schnake, of Virginia; one son, Julian Gudjons, of Germany; two sisters: Helen Lewis and Rhodie Moss, both of Meridian, Mississippi; a special niece and caretaker, Joreka Lewis; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
