Mrs. Georgia A. Thompson's Obituary
Georgia A. Thompson was born on May 23, 1963, to the late Lester Johnson and Minnie Ivy.
She was married in holy matrimony to Micheal Thompson, who preceded her in death. Georgia accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed her.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lester Johnson and Minnie Ivy; two brothers, Lester Jr. Ivy and Joseph Ivy; her daughter-in-law, Tiffanie Ivy; and her mother-in-law, Dessie Thompson.
Georgia's life was filled with love, faith, and devotion, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Veinell Ivy and Cachetta Ivy of Meridian, MS; three sons, Willie L. Ivy, Lekendric D. Ivy, and Sanyareeca L. Ivy; two sisters, Dorothy (Chris) Hull and Terri Ivy; one brother, Jerry (Mary) Ivy; twenty-three grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by three bonus children, Lesley Renee Ruffin, Kisha McGhee, and Patrick Chaney; five aunts, Bobbie Easley, Alma Johnson, Betty Hall, and Mae Ivy, all of Meridian, MS, and Ms. Willie B. Moore of Lisman, AL; and one uncle, William Ivy of Meridian, MS.
In addition, she leaves behind her in-laws: father-in-law, W.J. James (deceased); mother-in-law, Mary Lee James (deceased); brother-in-law, Tyrone James (deceased); brothers-in-law, W.C. James and Arichie James; and sister-in-law, Daphine Gulley, all of Cleveland, Ohio.
